"Wrangle out the door..."
Here comes Randal, he's...a berserker...

The Greatest City Ever:
"You know you're from Albany if..."

Hello, everyone. My name's Greg, if you couldn't tell from this page's address. I managed to survive freshman (and sophomore) year at Villanova U., so I'm now what you might call a Junior. I'm currently working on a major in Computer Science (well, not right this instant, you know, just in the meantime - scratch that, probably this instant).

Freshman year I was a proud resident of Simpson Hall, without a doubt the best dorm ever, anywhere. We were a tight little clan, us Simpson guys...
and if you ever want some of the best college-related stories, we're the guys to come to. I should have some pictures from the old Simpson days as soon as I can scan them.

Alumni is a thing of the past as well, and I'm now rocking Austin Hall...yes, so it's not the apartments. It's closer to everything, though. And I can see the Oreo from my desk.

(Note: I rarely ever update the bit below here, so if you really want something different here, let me know.)
This freshman year, I was lucky enough to be a part of Orientation Group 72 - Don't Mess with us, foo'. :) If anybody from the group happens to come across my page and was interested in doing one of our pseudo-get togethers again, I'd be more than happy to put up a note about it here. My e-mail's at the bottom of the page, if you don't already have it.

Now, on with the show - I'm sure many of you are curious about what makes Greg tick. If you aren't, well, then you're not alone. I'm not too interested in it myself. So at least we're in this together.

I like to think of myself as a creative person, but I know, and appreciate, that there are people way more creative (and tons more talented) than me out there. I used to do some sketching and painting, but just haven't bothered to put in the time for them, since I've realized that I really don't have much graphic talent at all. :) Instead, I've started writing...everything from essays to poetry to scripts to short stories...that pretty much covers it all. Naturally, I have a fair number of authors that I credit for inspiration. They include the likes of F. Scott Fitzgerald, J.D. Salinger, e.e. cummings, the late Douglas Adams, and the indispensable Douglas Coupland. (A sample.) Basically, if your name is Douglas or is made up mostly of initials, you can hope to rank pretty high in my book. :) I'm also a big movie fan - anything artsy or experimental is pretty cool by me. If you're up for a real mind-bender, you should try to find a copy of "Un Chien Andalou", one of the first surreal films ever, written and directed by Luis Buñuel and the one and only Salvador Dali. You'll probably think it's weird as hell - I know I did - but it's a good psychological vacation. In the much more comfortable vein of non-art films, I'm a big fan of (what else) comedy. My favorites include the likes of such old hands as Monty Python, Mel Brooks, the Marx Brothers ("If you lose a leg we'll help you look for it.") and other, more recent stuff. Almost Famous, High Fidelity, and every single film by that nutty Canuck Mike Myers also find their way into my list. :)

When it comes to true mastery of the medium, though, my hat must go off to one man. He's a two-time college dropout, he's slightly overweight and smokes, he hangs out with drug users, and without a twist of fate might have ended up jockeying a convenience store register his whole life. However, he has an incredible gift for writing, he knew Ben Affleck before Good Will Hunting, he's an expert in the zen of skeeball, a native resident of the Jersey Shore, and has a really cool beard.
Ladies and gentlemen, I refer to none other than the great Kevin Smith. I won't clutter this page up any more than necessary with stuff about him, but you can read all about him on another page.

This page is eternally under construction. :) For more information, or just to make me feel special (I know somebody's visiting this page besides me!), please drop me a line below, or sign the guestbook! :)
